Meet Our Doctors

Debra Blattman, D.M.D.

BlattmanDr. Deb Blattman earned her D.M.D. Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine after receiving her B.S. degree Magna Cum Laude from University of California, San Diego. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and is a member of the American Dental Association. She has been practicing general dentistry for over 10 years. While she enjoys all aspects of dentistry, she particularly loves esthetic dentistry and making patients feel good about their smile.

She currently lives in Framingham with her husband and son, and in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, rock climbing and baking.

Dr. Blattman sees patients in our Franklin and Bedford offices.

Martin Spielmann, D.M.D., F.A.G.D.

CD-6853Dr. Martin Spielmann received his D.M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and completed his undergraduate education at the College of the Holy Cross. While in dental school, Dr. Spielmann was the recipient of the ADA/Dentsply Student Clinician Award. His General Practice Residency was completed at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Spielmann attained fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Spielmann and his wife Suzanne live in Needham with their four children, Claire, Joe, Peter and Anna. In his spare time he is an avid tennis player and loves to travel.

Richard Strakus, D.M.D.

Strakus7624Dr. Richard Strakus, a general dentist, completed his undergraduate education at the University of Massachusetts – Boston, majoring in biology. He received his D.M.D. Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and, after graduation, completed a two year General Practice Residency at the Brockton VA Hospital and Harvard Dental School.

Dr. Strakus lives in Newton with his wife, Ileana, and their two children, Alexandra and Christopher. He is very active in his church and enjoys outdoor activities.

Nora Zaki, D.M.D.

CD-6661Dr. Nora Zaki received her D.M.D. Summa Cum Laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University. She also has a Certificate in Dental Hygiene.

Dr. Zaki has traveled extensively to Cairo, Egypt and San Pedro Sula, Honduras with a medical/dental humanitarian group offering free dental services. She has traveled to Egypt to conduct a public health research study regarding tobacco use. This research was presented as a poster at the AADR (American Association of Dental Research) annual meeting and in the Tufts Bates-Andrews Day Research Competition.

Dr. Zaki is a Member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Hygienists Association, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, the Golden Key National Honor Society and the National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars.

In her spare time, Dr. Zaki enjoys kayaking, biking, and traveling with her husband and two children.

Alexander Becker, D.M.D.

CD-7573Dr. Alex Becker completed his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, majoring in Engineering Science, and received his D.M.D. from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of the American Dental Association and has previously served the communities of Foxboro and the South Shore. Dr. Becker lives in Medfield with his wife Krista, their three children Henry, Newell and Louisa, and their dog Gus. In his spare time he enjoys trail running, golfing, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Sharon Jin, D.M.D., M.M.Sc.          Prosthodontist

Sharon-Jin_resizedDr. Sharon Jin completed both her D.M.D. and her Prosthodontic Fellowship at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Jin has been awarded the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics research grant for her work on dental ceramic materials, and the Joseph L. Henry award for excellence in clinical skills, research, and collegiality. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, American College of Prosthodontists, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Originally from China, Dr. Jin has also lived in Toronto, Canada, and upstate New York. She completed her undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating magna cum laude with degrees in Anthropology and Biology.

As a prosthodontist, Dr. Jin is a dental specialist who deals with cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, sleep apnea and temporomandibular joint disorders. Prosthodontists are highly trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating many diverse and complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and esthetics.

Dr. Jin currently resides in Newton, MA with her husband and son and enjoys reading, watching movies, and exploring New England with her family.

Alison Seliger-Schamberg, D.M.D.

Seliger-Schamberg-8539-2---CopyDr. Alison Seliger-Schamberg earned her D.M.D. Cum Laude with Honors in a Special Field from Harvard University School of Dental Medicine after receiving her B.S. degree Cum Laude from Cornell University in Biology. She then completed a General Practice Residency program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Cambridge Health Alliance, which emphasized the connections between oral and systemic health. Dr. Seliger-Schamberg has been working in private practice since 2014.

With an extensive background in the visual arts and biological sciences, Dr. Seliger-Schamberg has a unique skill set and perspective. She delights in using both her artistic skills and scientific knowledge to help her patients achieve optimal dental health. She is continually inspired by the relationships she forms with her patients, and enjoys offering them her compassionate support during their dental treatment.

In her free time, Dr. Seliger-Schamberg enjoys drawing, painting, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Seliger-Schamberg is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and
the Academy of General Dentistry.

Lisel Balk, D.M.D.

Dr. Balk is a general dentist and worked in private practice in balk imagePhiladelphia for four years. She was exposed to multiple forms of dentistry, and at one point, provided dentistry to refugees in South Philadelphia.  Dr. Balk then moved to Boston in 2016.  She is an active member in the ADA, PENN Alumni Association, and Mass Dental Society.  Dr. Balk has also trained in the administration of Botox and Dermal fillers for both aesthetic and TMJ issues.

Dr. Balk was born and raised in Trinidad and attended one of the best schools in the Caribbean where she received a national scholarship.  She then moved to Philadelphia to pursue her undergraduate and dental degrees at the University of Pennsylvania.  She graduated summa cum laude with both her undergraduate and dental degrees.  

Dr. Balk fully tries to ensure that all her patients are comfortable in the dental chair, and enjoys explaining the techniques and procedures she uses during treatment.  Her goal is to provide excellent dentistry for all her patients, establishing them with smiles that are both impeccable in function and cosmetic appearance. 

She currently resides in Needham, MA with her husband and son and enjoys baking, acrobatics, dancing and music.
