The Cell Phone Addiction

iPhone pic_resizedAs a parent, I always said my kids would not get a cell phone until they turned 12.  Then my kids started ski racing.  They were on the mountain by themselves at the age of 9.  And of course, therefore, they got phones.  It made perfect sense to me at the time though I am not sure why they needed iPhones.  Fast forward five years and they cannot get their faces out of them.  It drives me nuts and the worst part of it is that I have no one to blame but myself.  This past summer my kids went off to camp for seven weeks.  I decided to put down my phone.  I never brought it to restaurants, hiking or anywhere it would be a distraction.  I loved it!  It was really quite liberating.  Now that my kids are home again, I need to have my phone with me more.  But, I leave it in my pocket.  I don’t check it every few minutes anymore.  If I know that no one will be needing me, I leave it at home or in the car.  I have never been happier!  I would recommend giving up your phone a little bit to anyone.  That being said, I just ordered the iPhone X.

Uh oh…
