The Joy of Reading

books edit

I love to read.  I have three stacks of books on my night stand:

1.) Dental journals
2.) Parenting books
3.) Fun reads

I don't get to read as often as I would like, and the stacks remain longer then I would like.  When the day is done and the kids are asleep, I love to curl up under the covers and dig in to a book.  I am not a Kindle fan. I love holding books.  I love the feel of the pages.  I love the smell.  Unfortunately, I am at that stage of life that after a full day of work and then coming home for dinner, cleaning up and time with the kids, I read two pages and fall asleep.

However, when I do find the time and energy to read I am always looking for good book suggestions.  I have a strict reading criteria for my "fun reads."  It can't be anything too intense, the print can't be too small (I already have eye strain from looking at teeth all day long), and it can't relate to anything in my life.  I like to read to escape and learn about worlds and experiences different then mine.  My new thing is to read "young adult" novels.  I can get through them fast and find they hold my attention long enough to make it through more than two pages at a time :)

Here are some of the books I have read recently:

*Eleanor and Park
*The Rosie Project
*The Absolute True Diary of a Half Indian

I am always taking book suggestions!!!!
